A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at his home. He was 82, born Nov. 22, 1925, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. James Parker and the Rev. Jim Nichols. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He'll always be remembered for his impeccable green thumb and his love of golf balls, which he collected and sold. He was a man with a huge heart and will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Bobbye Truax Seguin; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie Carr, Mary and James Nolan, and Sharon and Bobby Nola; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Debbie Seguin and John Keith and Debra Seguin; a sister, Mary Lillian Freeman; a brother, George Seguin; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Talbert and Mary Lillian St. Romain Seguin; 12 brothers and sisters; son-in-law, James Carr; and grandson, James Nolan Jr. Pallbearers will be Jay Carr, Richard Seguin, Brenden Nolan, Cody Carr, Dylan Farris and Dillon Riles. Honorary pallbearer is Clay Seguin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Care of Louisiana.
