Tony was a very generous, openhearted man who enjoyed attending LSU basketball games and loved spending time with his Great Dane, Zoose, and Labrador, Baxter. He also had a strong passion for bowling and excelled at everything he set his mind to. He was a native of Illinois and a resident of Gonzales. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Friday, June 3, from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. He is survived by his stepson, Robert Hernandez brother and sisterinlaw, Thomas and Debra Sala nieces, Kelly Elkins, Erinn Sala and Karsen Sala nephews, Chip Elkins and wife Cindy, Alan Sala and wife Allison, and Patrick Sala greatnieces and greatnephews, Trey and Ashleigh Elkins and Laney, Tucker and Tripp Sala. He leaves behind numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Edith Sala sister, Lynn Elkins and brother, Paul Sala. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice or a person in need.
