With great sadness, the family and friends of John Clinton Clint Navarre mourn his death on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 25. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Brien Koehler. His ashes will be interred at Grace Memorial Park in Plaquemine in a private family service conducted by the Rev. Ralph Howe Jr. A multitalented individual, Clint left us much too soon. He was a 2004 graduate of Episcopal High School, attended LSU and later ITI Technical College. At Episcopal High, Clint excelled at track, especially the hurdles. He holds the record for receiving the Outstanding Trackman Award for all four years of his high school career. Clint was a member of the 2001 and 2004 Class 2A state track championship teams. He exhibited great sportsmanship, a gift he learned from his mentors, Claney Coach Dup Duplechin and Coach Will York. Clint was a wonderful chef and an artist as well. Survived by his loving parents, Camille Thibodeaux and her husband, Scott, of Houma, and Kevin Navarre and his wife, Sue, of New Roads devoted brother, Brandon J. Navarre, of Baton Rouge loving aunt, Nanny Anne, and uncle, Scott Arbour, of Baton Rouge cousins, Jamie Corinne and Morgan Elizabeth Arbour, with whom he shared many wonderful memories grandmothers, lovingly nicknamed Mo, Glenna Uhler Lusk, of Baton Rouge, Margaret Navarre, of Plaquemine, and Carol Thibodeaux, of Ethel and baby stepsister, Ryleigh Thibodeaux, of Houma. Other survivors include stepsisters, Nichole Achee, Jeanna, Bailey and Maddie Thibodeaux stepbrothers, Brady and Lance Achee and Myles and Preston Thibodeaux. Clint left behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, John E. Uhler Jr., Edwin B. Lusk, Kelly J. Navarre and Edward Herman Thibodeaux. Special thanks to Clints friends and classmates who kept a vigil at his side. Last, but not least, Clint leaves behind his faithful dog, Rocky. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the medical staff and chaplain of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Additional thanks to the good Samaritans who made it possible for Clint to fulfill his wishes during the final moments of his life to be an organ donor. The family lifts their hearts and prayers for those organ recipients. Special thanks to LOPA for its care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.
