John Gary Maus passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at The Carpenter House at the age of 48, surrounded by his family. He was born at Fort Polk in Vernon Parish on August 28, 1964 to John and Carole Maus. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. He is survived by his loving wife Lesley Anne Simpson three sons, Christopher, Colin, and Connor sister, Monique and her husband Steve aunt Kay Long brothersinlaw, Brian Simpson, Brad Simpson and wife Denise, Craig Simpson and wife Sue Lyn sisterinlaw, Stacey Calvert and husband Jim, and also numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Carole Fuselier Maus, and an infant sister, Michelle grandparents, Avie and Nelwyn Fuselier, and Sandford and Alice Maus. Gary worked for a local refrigeration company for many years and had a vast impact on many of his colleagues and clients throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. He graduated from Belaire High School and also completed studies at ITI. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed. He loved life, talking and joking with all he met and most of all giving a helping hand to all that had the privilege of knowing him. Gary will be remembered by all for his generous giving of his time and talents and often putting the needs of others before his own. The family wishes to thank his long time physicians Dr. Bryan Bienvenu, Dr. Fields, and nursing staff at OLOL and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for their care, concern and encouragement during his illness.
