"You left us beautiful memories, your love will still be our guide, and though we cannot see you, you will always be by our side."
John David Lively "J.D.", a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on February 21, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83, a native of Plaquemine and graduate of Istrouma High School. He was a successful businessman founding LAMM Food Service, Inc. and Coastal Food Service, LLC in Lafayette, LA. J.D. had a love of water and his prize possession a 1972 Grand Banks "Fancy Free". He adored his grandsons and never missed an opportunity to talk about them. He loved his puppies and always had at least one in his lap. J.D. lived his life to help anyone and everyone, never meeting a stranger. He had a giving, caring and loving soul.

The Family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Carl Luikart for the many years of provided care, friendship and concern on this last journey. The Family wishes to thank Dr. Karl Leblanc and Dr. Louis Minsky for provided care over the years. The Family also wishes to thank all the wonderful caring and compassionate staff at St. Joseph Hospice/The Carpenter House, Trygve Olson, RN, Nerissa, Ginny Barden, LCSW-BACS, Catherine, Crystal, Chad, Chaplain Tom Denton, Lauren Edwards, NP-C with Our Lady of the Lake, and many more.
We will never forget his familiar saying every time we went out to eat "You're not coming back". He may not be coming back to us, but one day we will be meeting him again. He touched so many lives but no one loves him more than his wife, daughter, grandsons and son-in-law.
