John Liebert

John E. Liebert, age 87, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on July 24, 2016.

John retired from the United States Army after serving in the Korean War and achieving the rank of colonel. He also retired from the Louisiana Department of Civil Service as Assistant Director.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan Carter Liebert; his son, Scott Steven Liebert; his sister, Ann Liebert Thibodeaux; and numerous loving and caring nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Liebert; his son, Bruce Carter Liebert; his brothers, Joseph "Hank" Liebert, Richard Liebert, and Terrence Liebert; and his sisters, Rosemary Liebert Pearson, Elizabeth "Betty" Liebert Poche, and Joan Liebert Zachary.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, from 1:00 PM until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM. Father Brad Doyle will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.
