John L. Lapeyrolerie, 79, a resident of Carville, Louisiana passed away on March 16, 2023.
John retired from Jacobs engineering as a piping designer (a job that he really enjoyed), and picked up woodturning. He was a member of Southern Bayou Woodturners. He made miscellaneous small items as a hobby including bowls and pens. He enjoyed making pens that would be donated to the military for the formerly know as Freedom Pens Project.
John liked to take his boat out and loved fresh or saltwater fishing. He then would fry up those fish up for dinner! He also liked to travel. He enjoyed taking road trips to go visit family, some out of state. He enjoyed taking long drives to go to the tool store to buy some new tools. He was also a 30+ year member of Al-Anon.
John is survived by his daughter, Katherine Lapeyrolerie Morash (Robin); his son, John Lapeyrolerie; his ex-wife, Martha Lapeyrolerie; his sister, Mary Ann Melancon and also many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father Leona V. and John H. Lapeyrolerie; his brother, Daniel J. Lapeyrolerie; and his grandson, Jonathan Skylar.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
