John Kaufman, Sr.

John Charles Kaufman, Sr., 78, a native of Pittsburgh, PA and resident of Baton Rouge, La. passed away October 3, 2018.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking and beatifying his yard and visiting with his friends at the Pasttime and on his deck in his back yard. John was a retired salesman of marine coatings & a US Army veteran. He will be greatly missed by friends and family for his quick wit, warm sincerity and generosity, and for all his weather reports.

John is survived by his wife Arlyn Tramonte Kaufman; children, John Kaufman, Jr. and Jeffrey Kaufman; 2 step children, Melissa Meyers and Brett Perera and wife Megan; step grandchildren, Austin and Madison Meyers, Prescott and Summer Perera; sister, Judith and husband Norris Davidson; nephew, Brian White and wife Kathy; great niece and nephew, Shelby and Waylan White, and the mother of his two boys, Nancy Kaufman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Kaufman.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:00 am until memorial service at 11:00 am.
