John Judice

John C. Judice entered into heaven to meet his Heavenly Father at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was 84. He was the youngest of 10 children born to Leonce and Felicia Judice. After growing up in Orange, Texas, and following his military service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he relocated to Baton Rouge where he met and married Ruth Thigpen. He is the proud father of John C. Judice Jr., of Austin, Texas, and Donna Felecia Judice; and grandfather of Mark Travis Judice and Melanie Lee Judice, both of Austin. John enjoyed his time serving as right-of-way coordinator for Dixie Electric Membership Corporation DEMCO until his retirement in 1988. He was a longtime member of the Lakeshore Lions Club. Relatives and friends are invited to Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, June 30, with visitation from 8 a.m. until services in the chapel at 10 a.m. Special thanks to the loving nurses and staff of Unit 3 of Ollie Steele Burden Manor and Hospice of Baton Rouge. We are deeply grateful to Barbara Jean Jones, David Bethey and Linda O'Connor for their special care of Mr. John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church or Hospice of Baton Rouge.
