A resident and a native of Baton Rouge, he passed away at the Carpenter House on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:50pm. He was 72 years old and a Captain in the US Army and a Helicopter Pilot during the Vietnam War. He received the two DFCs Distinguished Flying Cross. He was past president of the 281st Assault Helicopter Company Association. A memorial service will be at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday, December 18th at 11am, conducted by Rev. Lee McKinzie. Everyone is invited to a reception in the Adult Education Building immediately after the memorial service. Private Inurnment at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Linda Anderson Ydarraga Green two daughters, Erin Green Eason and her husband, Daryl and Jena Green a daughterinlaw, Carol Green one stepdaughter, Cathy Moffett and husband, Bob Moffett two stepsons, Mark Ydarraga and wife, Dana and Kevin Ydarraga and wife Courtney grandchildren, Cayleen Green Brandt Green Brady Eason Riley Eason Collin Eason Jillian Moffett Madeline Moffett Olivia Moffett Joshua Ydarraga Matthew Ydarraga Luke Ydarraga Cameron Ydarraga and William Ydarraga. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Colleen Green son, Wesley Green granddaughter, Mackenzie Eason and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Green, Jr. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, former president of Satoma Club, Mid City Model Rail Roader and a friend of Bill W. and served on the board of BRAADC. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House, 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. 70809 or to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815.
