John "Jay" Fugler, III, age 59, a native of Baton Rouge, passed away at his residence in Maurepas on May 22, 2017.
Jay was born on October 11, 1957. He was the used car manager at Salisbury Dodge.
He is survived by his wife, Judith "Judy" Holmes Fugler; his son, Jeremy Wade Fugler, Chief Quatermaster; his daughter, Kelly Danielle Fugler; his three sisters, Stacey Forester and husband Robert, Peggy "Peppie" Landry and husband, Ronnie, and Sharon Fugler Whitworth all of Baton Rouge; his brother, George Adrian Fugler of McHenry, Illinois; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Linda Holmes; his sister-in-law, Melinda Colson; nieces, Brittany and Mackenzie Colson, and many other nieces and nephews; and his grandchildren, Curtis Allen Luquire of Mobile, Alabama, Trent Daniel Fugler, Christian David Kayda, Emily Grace Kayda, and Jacob Ryan Kayda, all of Denham Springs.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents, John J. "Buck" Fugler, Jr. and Peggy Hudson Fugler and Judy's grandmother, Ethel "Nanny" Shaw.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, from 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, officiated by Fr. Jeff Bayhi. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Fresina, Josh Landry, Charles Wayne "Bubba" Pate, Jack Snee, Brett Fontenot, and Bobby Peck. Honorary Pallbearer will be Manny Simoneaux.
