John Cox, Jr.

November 9, 1955 — February 14, 2018

John Otto Cox, Jr., age 62, born in Jacksonville, NC and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 2:36pm.

John is survived by his wife, Paula Cleveland Cox; his children, Selissa (Scotty) Thompson, Jillian Cox, John O. Cox, III (Trey), Johnathon Cox, and Haleigh Cox; mother, Muriel T. Cox; sister, Jere Anne (Rocky) Townsend; brothers, Joe G. (Leigh Ann) Cox and Jay D. (Debbie) Cox; grandchildren, Tristian Maddox, Seth Maddox, and Skylar Cox; and his beloved service dog, Gracie Rose.

He is preceded in death by his father, John O. Cox, Sr.; and his grandparents, Leona and Otto Cox and Lois and Godfrey Turner.

Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 5805 Jones Creek Rd, Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 9:00am until funeral services at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Rocky and Cory Townsend, Joe and Jay Cox, Scott Griffin, Kelvin "Doodie" Martin, Mike Loewer, and Carlos Chavez.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Paula Cleveland Cox / John Otto Cox, Jr. Medical Fund at Regions Bank.
