John Clay Iii

October 15, 1965 — February 14, 2015

John William Clay III, age 49, passed away at his home in Metairie, Louisiana on February 14, 2015.

John loved the outdoors, walking, hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, hunting, riding his dirt bike, and playing sports with his nephews. He attended college at Tarleton University in Stephenville. John most recently lived in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans where he worked as an Iron Worker.

John leaves behind his beloved mother, Edie Clay Prikryl, as well as his beloved sisters, Suzy Clay Maier, Christee Sanders, and Laura Humphries., and his brother-in-law, Steve Maier. John adored his nieces and nephews, including Zachary, Hannah, Jacob and Luke Maier and Kaleigh, Heather, Chelsey, and Whitney Sanders and his precious dog, Dottie, as well as his dearest friends Phyllis Smith and Collette Miller and many other special friends.

John was the best son, brother, uncle, and friend that anyone could ask for. He loved and sought after the Lord and had a heart of gold that was filled with love, generosity, kindness and compassion. He always made it known how much he loved his family and friends and was always up for an adventure.

Praise the Lord for salvation and blessing us with John, and we are thankful for the promise that we will one day spend eternity with him in heaven.
