John Johnny Edward Cedotal, Sr.January 23, 1958 April 30, 2012I have fought the good fight, I finished the race, I have kept the faith in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:78A loving husband and father, John Edward Cedotal, Sr. passed away April 30, 2012 at the age of 54. A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathleen Kathy Moss Cedotal daughter and her spouse, Kristi Cedotal Normand and Corey Normand son and his girlfriend, John Edward Cedotal, Jr. and Amanda Kilpatrick his mother, Patricia Rizan Cedotal and one sister and her spouse, Cindy Cedotal Gant and Barry Gant and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Clarence Cedotal, Jr. Pallbearers are John Cedotal, Jr., Corey Normand, Barry Gant, Lenes Moss, Michael Robeau, Dustin Moss, Gregory Emory and Steven Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Garrett Gant, Vince Forte and John Legendre. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes again on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Many years ago, his heart tried to give out on him, but thanks to Ochsner Clinic and our good and merciful Lord, we were blessed with seven extra precious years with Johnny. Just a few words that describe our Johnny a great smile, loved practical jokes and country music. He was always there if anybody needed him just a phone call away. Family was everything to Johnny. He loved having his children and their friends all gather together for barbecues and sports events. Holidays were very special, too the Cedotal home had a Christmas tree year round which reflected his giving spirit and huge heart.
