Jodie Michelle Easley Cavin, 40 years old, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at her Greenwell Springs, LA residence. She entered into our world on April 15, 1980, born to Bobbie and Joe Easley, Sr. in Baton Rouge LA. Jodie is survived by her husband, Brian, her daughter, Madelynn, Ethan, and her siblings Joey Easley, Jr. (Jan), Lynn Laris (Rudy, Jr.), and Jeff Easley, Sr. (Patra).
Jodie will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Easley Jr. (Ashley), Joseph Easley III (Alexandra), Jaclyn Soileau (Justin), Megan Gann (Derek), Jordyn Branta (Scott), Shelby Easley (Blake), and Rudy Laris III (Heidi), and her great-nieces and nephews: Hunter, Fisher, Halle, Harper, Paizlee, Maddox, and Gage.
Jodie was an exceptional softball player throughout her younger years as a member of a number of tournament teams. She was also a member of the Parkview Baptist School and Belaire High Schools softball teams. After graduation from Belaire High School, she attended Southeastern University in Hammond, LA where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology. Jodie then became an employee of W.R. Grace & Co. and Albemarle and more recently Superior Steel LLC.
Jodie opened her heart and home to family members and friends and spent hours volunteering at a local battered women’s shelter. She also had a passion for animals that she passed on to her daughter, Madelynn.
Jodie is preceded in death by her grandparents, J.P. and Helen Easley and Andrew and Elizabeth Parker.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Comite Baptist Church, 12250 Greenwell Springs Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10am until funeral service at 12pm, officiated by Bro. Henry Wallace. A graveside service and burial will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge. LA.
Pallbearers: Jeffrey Easley Jr., Joseph Easley III, Rudy Laris III, Jeremy Easley, Ethan Milling, and Janson Hines. Honorary pallbearers: Scott Branta, Derek Gann, Justin Soileau, and Scotty Easley.
