Joan “Kitty” Fields Melilli
Kitty went to be with The Lord on October 13, 2022 at her home in Baton Rouge, with her loving children at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Jere D. Melilli, Sr., her father Herman W. Fields, and her mother Emma Dee Waggoner Fields of Shreveport, La.
Kitty was born on September 9th, 1936 in Shreveport, La. She is survived by her children Jere D. Melilli, Jr., Angela Denise Melilli, and Jonathan F. Melilli, and five grandchildren, Lacee Lissard Perry, Jonathan (Jay) Fields Melilli, Jr., Alexandria “Lexi” Jane Melilli, Jaden Love Melilli, and Jordan Fields Melilli, and three great grandchildren, Oliver Fields Perry, William Wright Perry, and Eleanor Marie Perry. She is also survived by her sister Linda Roberts Robinson of Baton Rouge.
Kitty was a graduate of Bossier High School in Bossier City, LA., and a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She also served as the president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Association of Medical Assistants.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2022 beginning at 12:30 PM until services at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
