At the age of 78, Jimmie Sue Fuller Bennett went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2022. She was a resident of Hico and Ruston, Louisiana until 1969 and she lived her remaining years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Anyone who knew her family knew that they were a star in her eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. She always made time for everyone, and always provided support and love for her family. She loved attending all of her children’s and grandchildren's school and athletic functions.
It would be wrong to say that Jimmie Sue lost her battle with cancer, because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Jimmie Sue stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like.
Jimmie Sue is survived by her husband Benny L. Bennett, Sr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Benny L. Bennett Jr. and wife, Renee, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Daughter, Elizabeth LeJeune Davis and husband, Duane, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grandsons, Bennett Charles LeJeune, Aaron Austin Bennett, and Caleb Michael Bennett.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Tiny Fuller; brothers, Eddie Fuller and Rodney Fuller.
The memorial service for the family and close friends will take place on Monday, September 12th at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Susan G. Komen Foundation or The Chapel Baton Rouge, Siegen Lane location.
