Jimmie Gardner

Jimmie Wactor Gardner, age 79, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2016. He was born on October 5, 1936 in Ruston, LA.

He loved God, family, rock hunting and playing golf. "Fly high and soar with the eagles; welcome home good and faithful servant of God."

Jimmie graduated from Pioneer High School in 1955 and graduated Cum Lauta from Louisiana Tech University in Engineering and Business in 1960. He worked at South Central Bell for thirty years and retired in 1991.

Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patsy Ann Cawthon Gardner; children, James Kenneth Gardner, David Neal Gardner, and Sherri Ann Gardner Gafford; grandchildren, Christopher, Christine and Sahara; Caleb, Jesse, Micah and Nathan; Tiffany, Tony III and Anna Marie; great-granddaughter, Breleigh; and sister, Nannie Elizabeth Gardner Hale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ivan Gardner and Nellie Rae Wactor Gardner; and brother-in-law, Conley Byron Hale.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 1:00 PM until funeral services at 2:00 PM.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
