Jerry “Maxine” Imhoff age 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 18, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. A native of Albany, LA, she graduated from Albany High School and OLOL School of Nursing. Maxine cared for many patients at OLOL hospital, Baton Rouge General Hospital, Woman’s Hospital and finished her nursing career as a school nurse in Livingston Parish.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald W. Imhoff of 39 years; son, Jason Schenk (Stephanie); daughter, Kim O’Brien (Shane); five grandchildren, Sarah O’Brien, Joshua Bynum, Keelyn Brock, Cameron O’Brien and Ashton Thibodeaux; two great grandchildren, Ava Grace O’Brien and Aiden Brock; sisters, Carrie Lou Parker of Independence and Mary Adams of Livingston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl E.”Sam” and Delia Herring; her sister, Grace Albin, brothers; Elmer “Tiny” Herring, Orin Herring and Donald “Bully” Herring.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 9 am – until service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge or the Alzheimer’s services of the Capital Area.
The family would like to give a huge thank you to The Hospice of Baton Rouge for the wonderful care we were given by all staff members we have had over the past year and a warm thank you to all the wonderful caregivers that have helped us through our journey.
