Jerry K. Guffey entered into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 1, 2017. At 12:59am.
He was born August 16, 1941, a gift from God to his loving parents, Robert H. and Rose W. Guffey. Jerry attended Istrouma High School, served his country in the Army, became a butcher at the local A&P grocery store, sold life insurance door to door, then started his company; Jerry K. Guffey Insurance in the late 70's. After 25 plus years of servicing his beloved customers, Jerry retired to fulfill his life time dream of moving back to his early childhood home of Tennessee with his trusted companion "Lucy Bob". Jerry was a loyal LSU fan. Always the entertainer, Jerry and Lucy Bob hosted many guest, both friends and family. This was his joy in life, to make others happy.
Jerry is survived by his children, Michael Dwayne Guffey, Jeanne Rebelle and husband K. Wayne, Jr., Patricia Musleh and husband Mustafa, and Karen Guffey and companion Jason O'Connor; his grandchildren, Leslie and Greg Bravata, Jaimee and John LeBlanc, Laura LeBlanc Palencia, Crystal Duffield and Errol Mix, Alyssa and Ken Kais, Jalal Musleh, Carlene Duffield, Cadey Duffield, Yousef "JoJo" Musleh, Brandie Rebelle and Cassidy Duffield; his great-grandchildren, Cameron Favorite, Breanna and Rylea Palencia, Isabella Bravata, Errobella Mix, Isabella Rae Thibeaux and Jesse LeBlanc; and his siblings, Mary Ann Duke, Joy Gremillion, Patsy Castilaw, Richard Guffey and Gene Guffey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rose Womac Guffey; two brothers, James Lynn and Wayne Guffey; a nephew, Patrick Guffey; and his best friend/brother, Robert L. "Bob" Jackson.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 11:00am until funeral service at 2:00pm, conducted by Brother Paul Taylor. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
