Jerrold Black

Jerrold Jerry A. Black, CPA native of Joplin, MO and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the age of 67 after a short battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Speaks Black two sons and daughterinlaw, Todd and Candy Black, and Scott Black two granddaughters, Madelyn and Meredith Black one sister, Joyce Ann Carpenter and husband Allen two sistersinlaw, Carol Bruno, and Margaret and husband Robert Patt and brotherinlaw, Wayne and wife JoAnn Speaks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruby Simmons Black brothersinlaw, Mel Speaks, and Paul Bruno and father and motherinlaw, James and Martha Speaks. Jerry graduated from Webb City High School and Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, MO. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who loved to fish and was an excellent cook. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 9 am until memorial service at 11 am.
