Jerome Cox Plauche, a native of Plaucheville, LA and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2018 at the age of 78. He was an active member of St. George Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He served in the US Navy and also served as a volunteer fireman for St. George Fire Department. He was employed in the petrochemical industry in operations and safety for a major part of his career. Before his illness he loved working as part of the LSU Event Management group during LSU Football, Baseball and Softball games. He also loved fishing and cookouts with his family. Jerome is survived by his wife, Gay Shirley Plauche, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Lisa Plauche Oubre (Danny), Laura Plauche Pritchard (Keith) and son James "Tony" Plauche (Shannon) all of Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his beloved furry girls, Jasmine and Samantha. Preceded in death by parents, Etta Cox Plauche and Wilton O. Plauche, Sr and 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Visitation and funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 1st from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with mass following at St. George Catholic Church. After mass the graveside service will follow at Resthaven Gardens located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake ICU department and the staff at the Carpenter House. In lieu of flowers a request is made to donate to the Alzheimer Association, American Cancer Society, St. George Catholic Church or The Carpenter House located at 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
