No weapon formed against me shall prosper Isaiah 54:17. A lawn care employee, he died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at his home in Prairieville. He was 34. A memorial service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Monday, July 5, from noon to 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Donnie Easley. He is survived by his mother, Aletha Hunt and husband Ricky father and stepmother, Jerry and Lynn Courtney maternal grandmother, Irene Simmons paternal grandfather, Bill Courtney and wife Frankie stepgrandparents, Lenore and Deloine Wheat sister, Vanessa Ladnier, her husband, Russ, and their children, Baylor, Delaney and Jadeu Stafford, of Lafayette a brother, Jordan Courtney and special friends, Donnie Easley, pastor, Melanie Wheat and Diane Kressman. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Monroe Simmons paternal grandmother, Melda Courtney and brother, Corey Courtney. Special thanks to Dr. Andrew J. McWhorter of the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Voice Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Teen Challenge.
