Jennings Frye, Iii

J.B. Frye, III died Aug.28 at St. Joseph Carpenter House surrounded by his loving wife and family after a long battle with cancer. He was 71 years of age.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wanda Berry Frye. In addition he is survived by his children, Kathy Kay Farrelly and husband Robert, Michelle Guidry and her husband Timothy, Jodie Katherine Bell, Jennings Bryan Frye, IV and his wife Tricia; five grandchildren, Brennan Newman, Matthew Farrelly, Andrew Farrelly, Allison Frye and Alexis Antolik; mother-in-law, Mary Berry Trevillion; sister, Nona Frye Spence and her husband Hartie; brothers, Barton Lee Frye, D.D.S. and his wife Missy, and Lloyd Henderson Frye, M.D. and his wife Debby; five nieces and nephews, Hartie Spence, Jr., Catherine Spence Sokora, Stephen Spence, Lollie Frye Aulet, and Ana Clare Frye Mello; 6 great nephews and one great niece and many special cousins.

J.B. graduated from University High School and attended LSU where he played baseball and was a proud member of the LSU Tiger Marching Band. His work experience included Exxon for 25 years as a process operator/temp foreman and, with his wife, co-owned Crown Enterprises Tupperware Distributors.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Jennings Bryan Frye, Jr. and Agnes Henderson Frye and by a brother-in-law Baxter Calvin Berry.

Pallbearers are C. J. Aulet, Corey Douglas Palmintier, Christopher Roussel, Hartie Spence, Jr., Tom Sokora and Delmar Walker, M.D. Honorary pallbearers are Brennan Newman, Matthew Farrelly, and Andrew Farrelly.

The service will be conducted by Pastor Jason Filler of Brookway Church and Dr. George Haile with eulogies by Brandon Tumey and Pamela White The visitation and will be held Thursday Sept. 1 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 11817 Jefferson Hwy., beginning at 10:00 am until service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Greenoaks Cemetary at 9696 Florida Blvd.

The family would like to give special thanks to St. Joseph Carpenter House for their care and compassion.
