Jeffrey Young, Sr.

Jeffrey Bernard Young Sr., age 74, passed away on April 23, 2017. Jeff was born in Big Springs, Texas.

He worked at Dow Chemical for 32 years and retired in 1994. After retirement, he moved to Tylertown, MS where he enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of his home on the Bogue Chitto River. His greatest passion was his love for all living things. His dogs, Fluffy, Bella, Cassie, and Little Brother were some of his greatest joys, along with Fan Tailed Pigeons, Silkies, and Doves.

Jeff is survived by his three children, Shannon Young Guillot of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeffrey Bernard Young Jr. (Valerie Young "Peaches") of Greensburg, LA, and Dianna Young Langston (Shane Langston) of Sorrento, LA. Grandchildren include, Joshua Andrew Guillot (Janette Guillot), Gage Anthony Guillot, Alec Trevor Guillot, Jacob Blaine Young, Victoria Jayne Young, Cole David Young, Savannah Faye Young, Elizabeth Grace Langston, and Abigail Claire Langston. Great-grandchildren are, Mindy Marie Bernard, Oakley Rose Guillot, Beaux Braxton Guillot, Mason Tyler Guillot, and Brantley John Guillot.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Kay Young; his grandson, Mason Tyler Guillot; and his parents, Bernard Clifton Young "Barney" and Faye Marie Young.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 12:00 pm until funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Guillot, Gage Guillot, Alec Guillot, David Warner, and Dorman Tipton.

The family of Jeff Young wishes to extend our sincere thanks for the outstanding care and compassion shown by his nurses, Roxanne Henderson and Jamie Ross. We are eternally grateful.
