Jeffrey Rutland

Jeffrey B. Rutland, age 30, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on November 20, 2017.

He was an Episcopal High Graduate and National Merit Semifinalist and later attended Louisiana State University. He was employed by MMR Group as a Senior Engineer for the Communications Division. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and hiking. He was always home with a Fly rod in his hand and fished the waters of Alaska, Canada, and South American. He had incredible musical talents and could play any string instrument, as well as the piano.

Jeffrey is survived by his brother, Michael Rutland; his sister, Kennan Bruser; as well as his parents, James and Connie Rutland; brother-in-law, Jonathan Bruser; nieces, Analeigh and Adaline; and nephew Jacob Bruser.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Rutland of Baton Rouge, and Mr. and Mrs. Gussie Dupre of Washington, La.

Jeffrey's bright smile, quick wit, and red hair will forever be missed by those that knew or came in contact with him.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
