Jeff died peacefully Sunday, May 29, 2011, on the first anniversary of his marriage to his beloved Laura. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was 35 and the campus minister and religion teacher at Catholic High School of Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Catholic High School, Class of 1994, LSU and Loyola University of New Orleans. His strong faith in God, his genuine love for all people and his heartwarming smile touched many lives. He was truly a gift from God and a joy to know and love. His courage and faith throughout this ordeal was an inspiration to many. Survivors include his wife and the absolute love of his life, Laura Landry Nola parents, Mike and Mary Nola brother and sisterinlaw, Paul and Jennifer Nola two nephews, whom he adored, Nicholas also his godchild and Luke. He is also survived by his grandmother, Lucy Mancuso Nola aunts and their spouses, Catherine and Ory Gueho, Marti and Gerald Didier, and Paulette and Jeff Townsend an uncle, B.J. Nola another godchild, Sam Messenger Lauras sisters and their spouses, Patricia and Steve La Rochelle, Carolyn and Ray Welch, Linda and Mark Kuhn, and Susan and James Glass and many cousins and extended family members. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., Tuesday, May 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the church Wednesday, June 1, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Brother Ray Hebert, SC, and the Rev. Trey Nelson. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Andrew Brown, Chris Macaluso, Scott Losavio, Patrick Dulaney, Ray Welch and B.J. Nola. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Tullier, Brother Barry Landry, SC, Mrs. Lisa Harvey, Tom Eldringhoff and Dr. Jeremy Waggenspack, a great friend and source of comfort for the Nola family. The family would like to send their gratitude to all of the members of the medical profession who did everything possible to help Jeff beat this dreaded disease. Special thanks to Dr. Jay Brooks, Dr. Vince Cataldo and Dr. Mark Kantrow, and to the nursing staffs at both Baton Rouge General Medical CenterBluebonnet oncology unit and the TC unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center who cared for Jeff with dignity, love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Catholic High School to be applied to a scholarship fund in Jeffs name.
