Jeffrey Kaufman

August 28, 1977 — May 15, 2021

Jeffrey James Kaufman, 43, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on May 15, 2021.  He was a 1995 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University briefly before enjoying a career in the service industry as well as co-owning Red Star along side life long friends.  Jeffrey enjoyed the outdoors most, hiking and exploring nature, a past time cultivated as a child from a second family residence in the Smoky Mountains.  He also loved biking and animals. Being in and around nature was where he felt most comfortable and found peace.  Jeffrey was a kind, gentle and helpful spirit that will whole heartedly be missed.  Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Nancy Taylor Kaufman, brother, John Kaufman Jr., uncle, James Taylor (Linda), aunt, Judy Kaufman Davidson (Norris), aunt, Linda Taylor and stepmother, Arlyn Kaufman.  Jeffrey is preceded in death by John Kaufman Sr. and uncle, Hollis Taylor.  A tribute to Jeffery’s life will be held June 19th at Gallery 14 from 6:00-8:00 with a ceremony of words from 6:30-7:00.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to World Wildlife Fund support.worldwildlife.org.  The Kaufman family wishes to extend our sincere thanks and forever love to the Boudet Family, Bobbi Germany, Toni Tullier, Brother Will and all friends that have come forward in this difficult time to give support and care.  All who have pulled their resources and donated time, space, effort and materials to make the honoring of Jeffery’s life so memorable and special.  We are grateful to each and every one of you, always.  “If I had a tale that I could tell you, I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile.  If I had a wish that I could wish for you, I’d make a wish for sunshine for all the while.” ~John Denver (Sunshine on my Shoulders)
