Retired from Stauffer Chemical and a resident of Erwinville, he passed away at 11:42 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008. He was 88, born on Dec. 16, 1919, in Monday, Texas. He loved God and his family and was baptized at Brushy Baptist Church, Haskell, Texas. He enjoyed fishing and traveling out West. Proud to serve his country, he was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting will resume at the funeral home chapel on Friday from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Ralph Brewer. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny Keith and Mary Eleanor Lepine Harris, and Brion Craig and Tara Martin Harris; sister, Julia Gordy; three grandchildren, Kristie Harris Culpepper and husband Brett, Michael Wayne Britt, and Cherie Harris March and husband Brookman BG; and three great-granddaughters, Taylor Lynn Britt, Mary Preston March and Michaela Nicole Britt. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marie Adele Gremillion Harris. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Wayne Britt and Lou Adams.
