Geraldine Gerry Zabasky Carley, a resident of Baton Rouge, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007. She was 76. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation continues at Parkview Baptist Church on Monday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman, the Rev. Collin Wimberly and the Rev. Ron Tyndall. Interment in Resthaven Garden of Memory. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, David R. Carley Sr. Other survivors include three sons, David Carley Jr. and his fiance, Cheri Troxel of Nashville, Tenn., Michael Carley and his wife Patricia of Baton Rouge, and Nathan Carley and his wife Terri of Prairieville; four grandsons, John Michael, Joshua, Matthew and Jesse Carley; two granddaughters, Virginia and Amanda Carley and their mother, Claire Carley, of Covington; her sister, Ferol Z. Kelly and her husband Ray of Alexandria; her brother, Gordon Zabasky and his wife Lynette of Dry Prong; a devoted sister-in-law, Dot Carley of Baton Rouge; and a sister-in-law, Karleen Zabasky of Silver Spring, Md. Mrs. Carley was preceded in death by her parents, John and Corinne Corley Zabasky; and her brother, John T. Zabasky. She was a graduate of Boyce High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She was active in various committees and Sunday school at Parkview Baptist Church and served as a teacher and director of Parkview weekday pre-school. Pallbearers will be Ken Carley, Richard Carley, Scott Carley, Ray Kelly, Henry Wallace and Tom Zabasky.
