Jean Raymond Larroux died peacefully at his home with his wife by his side Monday morning, Dec. 14, 2009. Jean was raised in Kenner. He graduated from East Jefferson High School, served in the Army Reserve, attended LSU and the University of Georgia, having received an electrical engineering degree. Jean retired from Dow Chemical with 30 years of service. He was 71. He was a wonderful and beloved husband of 50 years to Joan Adams Larroux, loving father to Brad Larroux and wife Renee Roubique, Dara Larroux Akdamar and husband Erol Akdamar, Renee Larroux Pittman and husband Duane Pittman, brother, Tim Larroux, and loving grandfather to Paige, Brianna, Brooke and Hope Pittman, Sydney Larroux and Ethan, Emmy and Ally Akdamar. Preceded in death by his parents, Jean Sporl Larroux and Ruth Holcomb Larroux. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Jean enjoyed being with his family, working in his garden and fishing at his camp in Grand Isle. He was always planning and working on new projects. We want to give a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and therapists who cared for him during his time of illness.
