JD Kinchen
passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Thursday, October 9, 2014. He was born in Bogalusa, LA on November 22, 1922. JD graduated in Chemical Engineering from LSU in 1944. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he returned to Baton Rouge and worked at Exxon Chemical Plant until he retired in 1986. He loved fishing, camping, and LSU sports.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan K. Rowe and her husband Donald R. Rowe and sons, Brent E. Kinchen and his wife Susan P. Kinchen, and Brian S. Kinchen and his wife Lynne M. Kinchen brother, Bruce Kinchen sister, Mildred Stewart six grandchildren, Jeremy and Cory Rowe, Kendall, Claire, Craig, and Spencer Kinchen and six greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce B. Kinchen.

The family thanks JDs caretakers, Nova Brandon, Montisha Magee, Tracy Riley, and Charisma Holmes for their dedication over the last four years. Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 11:00 am until service time. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
