It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jarrod Dalton McRight, who left us too soon on February 10, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on October 3, 1976, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jarrod touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his warm spirit and unique talents.
An accomplished gunsmith with a doctorate in theology, he had a passion for his craft that was evident in everything he did. Beyond his work, Jarrod had a creative soul—he loved drawing, enhancing photographs, and producing music videos for local artists. His artistic flair was a reflection of his vibrant personality. He also excelled in sports, notably winning a gold medal in powerlifting at the national junior Olympics, a testament to his determination and strength.
He is survived by his parents Lawrence Dalton McRight Jr. and Jeanette Rayner McRight; his brother Dr. Scott Rayner McRight, MD and wife Shannon Miller McRight, P.A.; cherished niece Mallory Grace McRight; and special friends Addison Williams and Nai Williams.
The family would like to invite everyone who knew and loved Jarrod to join them as we commemorate his life. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 1:00 pm until funeral services at 3:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4000 Monroe Hwy, Ball, LA 71405.
