Janice had an abiding faith and love of God. Janice’s greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, instilling values in them with her adoring husband, Bob. Janice, affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren embodied the values of generosity, selflessness, service and care for others, courage and determination. All who knew Jan knew her servant’s heart and always believing others’ needs were greater than her own. Janice was a loving, selfless, and prayerful devoted Christian.
After retiring from Louisiana State service, she volunteered tirelessly for her church, St. Andrew’s UMC. Bishop Robert Muench of the Baton Rouge Diocese presented Janice with the “Be a Light” award for her work with the cookbook committee and for her content contributions to St. Vincent de Paul’s cookbook, Taste and See, including 21 of her favorite recipes - sharing her love language of nourishing others.
