Janice Alexander Daigle a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday July 24, 2018 in Dunnellon, Florida. She retired after 40 years in the insurance industry starting with Union National Life and Fire Company. She finished her career as a Senior Vice President of Unitrin/Kemper Insurance in St. Louis, MO. While being a dedicated business woman in the board room she always made sure her family and friends came first. She would often push herself to the limit of exhaustion to make sure everyone was taken care of before herself. A selfless woman with an incredible smile, she chose to look at the good in life and never allowed the rough times to hold her back or define her. It is known that her love for LSU football matched her dynamic love for family and friends. Even after moving 600 miles away she rarely missed an LSU home football game. An enthusiastic tailgater, she relished the opportunity to bring everything she loved together for hours of fun, family, and friendship. She could often be found in Lot D of tiger stadium setting up a tailgate before the parking staff arrived, and she never left the stadium until the final seconds rolled off the clock. After retiring she chose to pack up and move to Florida to spend her final years helping to raise her grandsons whom she loved above all else. She is survived by her husband Carl Daigle; her brother and sister-in-law Lenny & Judy Alexander; her son and daughter-in-law Chris & Ashley Daigle; her daughter and son-in law Alysia & Brian Hoekstra; and her two grandsons Hayden and Mason Hoekstra. Janice was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Doris Alexander and her brother Gary Alexander. Pallbearers are Lynn Alexander, Jimmy Altazan, Rusty Altazan, Chris Schouest, Brad Dioron, and Chad Seal. A wake will be held Sunday from 5-8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home on Jefferson Hwy and mass will be held Monday at 11am preceded by a wake from 9-11am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen.
