Jane Kirschner

On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by loved ones, our Lord Jesus Christ took Lelia Jane Kirschner, a loving mother and grandmother, to her heavenly home at the age of 69.

Mrs. Kirschner was born September 3, 1945, in Winchester, KY and was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA for thirteen years.

Lelia was known by the ones that loved her as Jane. She devoted most of her life to her family and friends. Jane's happiest days were spent with her loving husband, children and grandchildren. By the one's closest to her, she was known for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, and for her laughter as she was always able to make everyone around her smile. Jane was a current member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Jane is survived by her husband, Rod Kirschner; sons, Rodney (Courtney) Kirschner, Bryce Kirschner and Matt (Laura) Kirschner; brother, Kenneth (Kay) Huff; sister-in-law, Hilda Huff; grandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlyn; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Jane is preceded in death by her father, Roscoe "Red" Huff and mother, Flora Crowe Huff; brother, Robert Huff; aunts, Ida Crowe and Dorsey Crowe.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM.

Visiting hours will resume Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Ln, Baton Rouge, LA from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Interment will take place at Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, KY.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, St. Patrick Catholic Church and the local Baton Rouge Cancer Research.
