Jane Cohen

Jane Cohen, 80, passed away July 2, 2018. She was born August 7, 1937 in New Orleans, LA, born to Gilbert and Inez West. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother who loved bird watching, reading her bible, and attending church. Jane was a member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Kenneth) Bourque of Gonzales, LA, Robbin Richards of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jaynie (Jonathan) Judaken of Memphis, TN; sister, Betty (Steve) Knapps of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Donald (Gail) Swanson of Baton Rouge, LA; aunt, Ethel Ringo of Watson, LA; seven grandchildren, Wendy, Kenneth, David, Jackie, Jay, Julia and Joelle; eight great-grandchildren, Kale, Andrew, Tori, Amelia, Braden, Garrett, Corbin, and Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey, daughter, Betty Lynn Kent, her parents Gilbert West and Inez West Casey, brother, Johnny West, and two sisters, Gloria Lichtenwalter and Izarona Adams. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 5, 2018 funeral services officiated by Pastor Neal Kaver will begin at 1:00 PM with interment following all at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Pallbearers are, Kenneth Bourque, Kenneth Bourque II, David Bourque, Jay Richards, Alan Smith and Kale Smith. A special thank you to her nurses and caregivers at Carrington Place.
