Jamie Wilson

A friend of many and beloved by all, Jamie Corley Wilson lost her three month battle with Covid-19 on Friday, April 2, 2021, at the age of 73.

A West Monroe native and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wilson was a graduate of West Monroe High School and attended the University of Louisiana Monroe. During her more than 20 years of employment at Mary Bird Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center, Wilson was given the honorary title of “director of first impressions” as she was most often the first one who warmly welcomed patients entering the facility. Her many acts of kindness and spirit of empathy for patients and co-workers alike earned Wilson the Prestigious Sister Linda Constantin Courage and Compassion Award in 2016.

Jamie leaves her memories to be cherished by her children, Stewart Wilson, Dennis Wilson (Jenny Schwartzberg); siblings, Janet Corley Roark and James Corley, Jr.; and grandchildren Kenleigh and Jace Wilson, and Emile and Leon Schwartzberg-Wilson. She is also mourned by many other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Alma Patrick Corley; and her husband, Eddie Wilson.

Unshakable in her faith, Jamie was a member of Community Bible Church, Baton Rouge. An avid sports fan, Jamie enjoyed watching any event involving a ball.

Visitation will take place Friday, April 9, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until services at 10:30 AM. A private burial will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, Louisiana.
