James Wunstel, Sr.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5.

James O. Wunstel, Sr. a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away March 12, 2020 at the age of 92. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne.

J.O. is survived by his children, Julie Wunstel Rollins and her husband, Phillip Rollins, Robin Wunstel White and her husband, Mack “Bodi” White, Marty Wunstel and his wife, Loretta Wunstel, James Wunstel, Jr. and his wife, Mary Wunstel; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Leona Parnell Wunstel.

Pallbearers will be Cody Dugas, John King, Ivan McKnight, Chuck Schafer, Perry Verret and Mack White, III.

Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Thursday, March 19, from 12:00 noon until services at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul Taylor. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
