James Marvin Wilson passed away Oct. 16, 2014 in Baton Rouge, La., at the age of 81. He was born Nov. 17, 1932 in Boyle, Miss.
His parents, Keith Stewart Wilson and Evie Mooney Wilson, as well as his two brothers, William Evans Wilson and Keith Burdett Wilson, preceded him in death.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Anne Crowell Wilson four children and spouses, Mark Bradford and Stephanie from Vail, Co. Leigh Bradford Ackerman and Gerard of Nashville, Tenn. Amy Bradford Kubricht and Trey of Baton Rouge, La. and Beth Bradford Carroll and Clayton of Nashville. An adoring grandparent, he also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren, Hallie and Matthew Bradford Ava and Edward Ackerman Addison and Campbell Carroll and Faith Kubricht.
He was a graduate of Shelby Miss. High School and served three years in the U.S. Army as a member of the Army Security Agency. He graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and from the University of Mississippi with a Masters degree. He did post graduate work at the University of Texas and Mississippi State University.
While teaching at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, he was the founding chapter advisor of the Louisiana Alpha chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He served his beloved SAE fraternity in many capacities, including Province Treasurer for five years Premier Archon for three years Honorary Eminent Supreme Archon for two years and SAE Lafayette La. Chapter Advisor from 1968 to present. He won all the awards that national SAE organization has to offer.
He retired from USL as an Associate Professor of Accounting. In retirement, he was an avid gardener and world traveler that loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church, 205 N 4th St, Baton Rouge, La., 70801. Funeral services will take place immediately afterward.
Pallbearers include Mark Allen Bradford, Gerard Raymond Ackerman, Clayton Daniel Carroll, William Samuel Kubricht, Keith Ben Wilson, Timothy Wayne Wilson, James Samuel Wilson and Branden Don Wilson.
