James Allen Rouse, age 70, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on March 31, 2023. James was born to James F. and Eula Rouse on January 5, 1953. He grew up in Gulfport, MS where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In 1971, James graduated from Harrison Central High School and later he attended the University of South Alabama. James worked as an electrician through IBEW LU 903 and also did work as a planner/scheduler for contractors.
Throughout his life, James was a country man who was very active. He especially enjoyed gardening, golfing, and fishing. Crawfish and shrimp where his favorite foods and he loved all types of music from Bluegrass to Rock N’ Roll. He was a loving man who took good care of his family. Some of the most special moments in his life included the birth of his daughter, Jamie, and marrying Ginger and becoming a stepfather to her children. He was as handsome inside as he was outside. James was always honest, meaning with him what you saw was what you got. He was also strong and stubborn, as evidenced by him waking up from a 30-day coma in 2008 after a double heart attack. His family will never forget how they felt in that moment when he finally opened his eyes and how blessed they felt to get more time with him.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Rouse and Eula Mae (Saucier) Rouse. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ginger Bernard Rouse; stepdaughter, Cory Quinn; daughter, Jamie Brandt; stepdaughter, Anna Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and best friends, Mark Bernard, Larry Stuard, Bridget Bernard, and Patricia Summers.
