A retired electronic technician and musician, he died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center. He was 62, a resident of Baton Rouge and at U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 1 p.m. until service in the chapel at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Collins. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Scottie O. McCarty stepfather, Patrick Mallinson two daughters and sonsinlaw, Tammy and David Falgout, and Judy and Brad Pace son and daughterinlaw, Brad and Virginia Fisher two sisters, Gisele VanDervort and husband Bob, and Marcelle Porter and husband Arthur and four grandchildren, Philip Falgout, Andrew Fisher, Lyndon Pace and Brenna Pace. Preceded in death by his mother, Simone Mallinson father, Ralph McCarty and brother, Patrick McCarty. He was a ham radio operator with call sign KB5ICU and member of ARRL and NARC.
