James H. McCall (Mac) (Coach McCall)

James H. McCall, "Mac" born January 21, 1943, passed away June 28, 2016.

Mac is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Earl and Beatrice McCall; his sister, Susie Tomeny and brother, Walter Earl McCall.

Mac is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rita Steib McCall, his brothers, Donald and Barry McCall and sister, Brenda Marchand. Mac is also survived by his children Dax McCall (Amanda), daughters Tari Zettlemoyer and Rachael Averett (Kelly). Grandchildren Logan and Gavin Zettlemoyer, Devin and Ryan McCall, McCall and Kate Averett.

Mac graduated from Plaquemine High School, in 1961 and held a Masters Degree. Mac was a teacher and coach for forty years. He served his country for six years in the US Coast Guard and three years in the Air Force.
After retirement Mac pursued his passion of fishing with friends, Louis, Wally, Michael, Greg, and his cousin, Elton.

Visiting hours will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., from 9:00 am until services at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, addressed to Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, P.O. Box 84357, Baton Rouge, LA, 70884.
