A native of Jonesboro, LA, and resident of Baton Rouge passed away at age 87 on November 10, 2018 at Flannery Oaks Guest House. He was a retired member of Electrical Workers Local 995. In the 50’s & 60’s he was one of only two cable splicers in the Baton Rouge area. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. Kenneth and Rita Mabel enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada in their travel trailer.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 9:30 am until services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita Mabel Landry Malone; a daughter, Michele Malone Arbour and spouse (Barry); a son, Greg Malone and spouse (Denise) all of Baton Rouge; a daughter Robyn Malone Wise and spouse (Darren) of Dallas, Texas; 6 grandchildren, April Arbour, Alison Arbour McCutcheon and spouse (Bert), Chris Malone and spouse (Ashlyn); Colleen Malone, all of Baton Rouge and Grace and Faith Wise, Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren Brayleigh and Brooks Malone.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mack Malone and Esther Maxwell Malone.
