A retired truck driver, he died Monday, July 13, 2009, at his residence in Port Allen. He was 73, a native of McComb, Miss., and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Cryptside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum on Thursday, July 16, at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Keith Payne and the Rev. Benny Jones. Survived by his wife, Helen E. Lambert; two daughters, Phyllis Blachier, and Dell Brooks and husband Andrew; son, Darrell Lambert and wife Kathy; sister, Katie Jackson; friend and loving sister-in-law of 55 years, Nell Lambert; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Vought Lambert; sister, Louie Mae Wallace; and two brothers, Willie B. Mason and John Lambert. He was a member and past master of the Baker Masonic Lodge 441. He was an avid fisherman and loved driving big rigs.
