James Caddy

October 24, 1957 — July 18, 2020

James Caddy, resident of Prairieville, passed away on July 18, 2020.

James, ‘Jim,’ was born in Scunthorpe, England and moved as a young boy to South Wales. James spent his boyhood enjoying cub scouts and making mischief. James completed an apprenticeship and became a talented electrician. He immigrated to Louisiana at age twenty-one with future wife, Carol. Jim and Carol settled in Addis and Jim worked for GSU, later Entergy. Jim was a member of a bow hunting club, and enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping and making projects with his grandchildren. Jim was an adventurer, reader, thinker and loved sharing his passions with all around him.

James is survived by father Derrick; partner Jeanne; daughter Jannean and spouse Eric, daughter Deryn and spouse Shaun, and step-daughter Darcy and spouse Walter and step-son Kyle; one sister Gwenda; three granddaughters Lily, Kate, and Ady; and two grandsons Cayman and James.

He is preceded in death by his mum Jean O’Grady.

A celebration of James’s life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm with a memorial service at 5:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
