James A. Bullock (Jim) was born on November 28, 1945 in Tylertown, Mississippi to Norma Dean Smith Bullock and Austin Lynell Bullock. He was raised in Metairie, Louisiana and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1981. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After the Army he went to work for AT&T and 32 years later he retired as a Building Manager of the Southern Region.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lou Ellen Frederick Bullock of 24 years. He is also survived by James R. Bullock, Richard P. Bullock & Chad Hamm, David L. & Susan Luker, Jr. and Margaret L. Lindsey. They have 8 wonderful grandchildren, Jamie, Kassie, Andrew, Justin, Allison, Jarrett, Patrick & Grace, 3 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Keegan and Alexander. Jim is also survived by his brothers, David & Lynn Bullock, Jack & Eileen Bullock, Hugh & Alison Bullock; his step-mother, Ms. Joel Bullock; Mother-in-law, Jeanette Frederick, Sister-in-law & brother-in- law, Janice Frederick & Paul Wood, Brother-in-law & fiancée, Eddie Leonard Frederick & Tammy Tingle.
Pallbearers are Cpl. Justin B. Luker, William Barbier, Patrick C. Lanier, Kelly R. Davis, Andrew Boudreaux, Pvt. Ryan Lang and Gabe Doss. Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie & Kassie Bullock, Seaman Jarrett Luker, Allison Luker, Grace Lanier, Glenn Barbay, Mark Lang.
He was preceeded in death by his Mother, Norma Dean Smith Bullock, Father, Austin Lynell Bullock, Father-in-law, Leon John Frederick and Sister-in-law, Maijorie Frederick Walker.
The family of James Austin Bullock would like to thank Dr. Mendler, Dr. Quinn and the nurses at Our Lady of the Lake in the Heart & Vascular Floor responsible for room 8000, as well as the staff of the St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House Facility on Jefferson Hwy., for the wonderful care that was given him during his illness. Additionally, Dr. Jeffery Hyde, Louisiana Cardiology Clinic, Dr. Edmund Vinci, & Nurses Hollie and Jodi of the Baton Rouge Clinic, Dr. Henry Eiserloh, Dr. Shobha Voodukuri, Dr. Azeem Khan, & Dr. Michael Davis.
Services will be held at the Resthaven Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La 70816. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and funeral services will be held in the chapel at Resthaven beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow.
