James Brewster

James D. Brewster of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully with family on Friday, June 17th, 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

James "Jim" was born on April 1st, 1938, to Maynard and Ann Brewster, in Painesville, Ohio.

He attended and graduated from Harvy High School, in Painesville, Ohio in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart Simone Filson Brewster on August 1st, 1959. He worked at Georgia Gulf Corp. for 25 years. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, and his grandchildren more than anything.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Ann Brewster.

He is survived by his wife, Simone Brewster; sister, Jean Brewster Dicarlo and her husband, Robert E. DiCarlo; his children, Sherri Brewster Lewis, Jamie Brewster Bossom and husband, Dwayne G. Bossom, Jeffrey J. Brewster, Christopher J. Brewster, and Brian E. Brewster; 14 grandchildren, Ashley Bailey, Patrick Bailey, Amanda Lewis Fitzgerald and her husband, Laramie Fitzgerald, Allison Saia, James Saia, Madeline Buckles, Catherine Buckles, Elizabeth Buckles, Shelly Brewster, Sierra Brewster, Corbin Brewster, Chayla Brewster, Christian Brewster, and Henry Brewster; and one great-grandchild, Leigha Saia.

The Brewster family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Canon Hospice of Baton Rouge, and all of Jim and Simone's wonderful neighbors for the support and loving care these past few months.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 12:00 PM until funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be, James Saia, Bob DiCarlo, Johnny Saia, Laramie Fitzgerald, Phillip Sandoz, and Joseph Davis Fontcuberta.
