James Boyd

James Robert Boyd, 68, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home. He was born in Port Sulphur, LA and a longtime resident of Prairieville, LA. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus for St. John the Evangelist and was a devoted and active parishioner for St. John the Evangelist and St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gail Girouard Boyd two daughters, Leah Shelton and husband Matt and Joan Broussard and husband Ryan four grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, Madison and Lauren aunts and uncles, Dolores Barrois and Charles Rousselle three sisters, Mary Beth Scallan, Sandy King and Gale Ann Swartz six brothers, Ashley, Raymond, Lewis, Jr., Willie, Bobby Joe and Donald Ray Boyd. Preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Emma Rousselle and Lewis and Elaine Boyd brother, Radley Boyd three uncles, Calvin Rousselle, Wilbur Rousselle, Clifford Rousselle and aunt, Evelyn Coss. Visiting will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5 pm to 8 pm and will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 9 am until 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 15208 Hwy. 73, Prairieville, La. 70769, following the visitation at 11 am, conducted by Father Eric Gyan.
