James Blender

A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Peoria, Ill., he died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, due to an automobile accident in LaPlace. He was a graduate of Tulane University. He was vice president of Summit Marine Service and was respected by his peers for his knowledge of the marine industry to the past 30 years. He enjoyed sailing on Lake Ponchartrain. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Saturday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Blender daughter, Lauren Blender son and daughterinlaw, John and Hilary Blender sister, Barbara Lynn and husband Pat and brothers, Bill Blender and Charles Blender.
